This is one of my older romances. I wrote it after O.J. Simpson was acquitted of murdering his wife. Of course the hero in HAUNTED is innocent…or is he?

Every town and city in the United States has a haunted house at Halloween time. To make Slaterville’s haunted house more spectacular, frightening, and mysterious than any other haunted house in Northern California, Valerie Wiggins realizes hers must different if she wants to raise money for the domestic abuse charity she runs. The person who can help her achieve success is Jason McLain, a former Hollywood Oscar winning special effects expert who recently moved to Slaterville.

Jason is the perfect person to make this project a success, and Valerie must admit, she’s attracted to him. But she’s also afraid of him. Did he kill his wife? He was acquitted of the murder, but only because of a lack of evidence.

Even Jason isn’t so sure of his innocence. It seems like bad luck follows him everywhere and his jealousy streak seems to trigger these episodes. As the attraction between Jason and Valerie grows into love, she vows to get to the bottom of what happened to Jason’s wife; however, her snooping just might be her undoing.
